  1. Château de Trinquevedel Tavel

“Tavel is the only AOC in the southern Rhône dedicated entirely to rosé production. Unlike many rosés, which use second-class fruit not deemed suitable for reds, the raw material here is picked exclusively for the purpose of creating a top-class rosé. Guillaume Demoulin, a fourth-generation vigneron, crafts Trinquevedel’s Tavel—a blend dominated by Grenache—by way of a skin maceration at cold temperature lasting up to two days, depending on the vintage. This process draws out aromatics of wild strawberry and thyme, while achieving a seductive deep pink color.

Delightful with a bowl of olives in the summer, this no-nonsense rosé also has the structure to stand up to anything off the barbecue.”
    Pricing: Around $20 to $25

  3. Petit Bourgeois

In this bright pink rosé, “you may detect delicate floral notes, such as rose petals and hibiscus, along with fresh red berries like strawberries and raspberries. There might also be hints of citrus zest or a touch of spice, adding complexity and intrigue. When it comes to taste, this rosé is usually dry, crisp, and refreshing. It showcases the elegance and finesse of Pinot Noir. The flavors typically reflect the aromatic profile, with bright red berry notes taking the lead. Ripe strawberries, raspberries, and perhaps a touch of cranberry may dance on the palate. There might be a subtle citrusy undertone, contributing a lively acidity.

A great companion to summer food such as grilled meats, salads, or brochettes, this rosé wine also works marvelously with cocktail dinners and international fare, including seafood tempuras, Vietnamese spring rolls, grilled lemon chicken, and poached salmon.”
